Sydney to Hobart 2008
It is a dream of most sailors to be able to sail in the Sydney to Hobart. Renowned as one of the most challenging races in the world, it sets off from Sydney Harbour on Boxing Day and travels across the notorious Bass Strait to Hobart in Tasmania.
In 2008, I am honoured to be part of the crew of Lloyd's Business Brokers Too Impetuous having been asked by owner Rudy Weber to be one of the helmsmen in this great race. Havng sailed on Too Impetuous in several Brisbane to Gladstone and Brisbane to Keppel Races I know the boat well and as an older boat it is built properly and hence is a very strong boat which gives me confidence of making it to the other end no matter what conditions are thrown at us.
The website for the event has full details including a yacht tracker so you can follow our progress as we make this epic journey, the first Hobart for me and several of the crew on board. www.rolexsydneytohobart.com
